“Thank you for your invaluable help in the development of promotional materials for Calmspace, especially given the very tight deadline.
The excellent quality of the materials produced are a reflection of the time and effort Spinnaker were willing to put in to the project and the skills, knowledge and experience of its staff in terms of understanding the target market and the marketing needs of my company.
I now have promotional materials which are eye catching but at the same time they accurately describe the business benefits my company offers and reflect its underpinning values. I very much look forward to working with Spinnaker again in the future.”
Maureen O’Callaghan, Proprietor, Calmspace
The Challenge
Calmspace provides stress management programmes and a range of relaxation and meditation techniques, personal development skills, and massage and healing sessions to organisations and individuals.
A newly formed company, Calmspace were introduced to Spinnaker Marketing through one of our existing clients. It was at this introductory meeting where we were asked to provide advice and support in the development of promotional materials for a fast approaching exhibition.
The Solution
An initial meeting gave Calmspace the opportunity to position its services and state its needs. This also enabled Spinnaker Marketing to check that our services were fit for their purpose, identify where we could support Calmspace best and ensure that we could deliver on time and on budget.
By exploring Calmspace’s services, its target audiences and the desired outcome is was looking for from creating promotional materials we were able to advise upon the most appropriate media, size and format to positively engage with its desired audiences. Identifying two main customer groups, organisations and individuals, and the company’s immediate needs we were able to recommend and agree upon the design of some continuation paper, a postcard and display stand. These would compliment the already existing letterhead, leaflet and web site available, as well as keep costs down.
The recommended continuation paper would add value and reduce costs for Calmspace’s longer-term promotional activities by having multiple uses for proposals, case studies and fact sheets. Likewise, the postcard was designed as a hand-out at future events, but also as a mailing and leave piece for written communications and sales appointments.
With a three week deadline, we quickly submitted our proposal outlining our support, costs and a timetable of activity. Upon written confirmation from Calmspace and the submission of outline text for the promotional materials, we briefed our designers and began to edit and re-write the copy. By the end of week one we had agreed the design of the continuation paper, the content for the display board and postcard and presented initial design concepts to Calmspace.
With no budget for bespoke images, we needed to find royalty free stock photographs that represented Calmspace and its services, but also attracted the attention of and connected with its target audiences. Our experience of engaging with customers combined with our design and project management skills meant we could identify appropriate imagery and by week two Calmspace had signed-off all the content and designs for the promotional materials.
A peak time in the printing industry’s calendar, week three saw the print and production of the materials with Spinnaker Marketing fully managing the process and ensuring quality standards remained at their highest even though this was what’s commonly seen as a ‘rush job’.
The Result
With a three week deadline, Spinnaker Marketing provided a full design, copy writing and printing service for essential promotional tools Calmspace needed at an exhibition. Considering the existing brand, we made sure that the design and style of the new materials complimented those already available.
This was Calmspace’s first exhibition attendance and we recognised that it was critical that they had high quality materials available that would position them as a credible provider of stress management services. With other health and care related organisations attending the exhibition, our focus was on providing eye-catching design and strong messaging that attracted and retained the attention of those visitors to the event.
We were pleased to support Calmspace at the exhibition with promotional tools that offered exceptional value for money and multiple functionality. Calmspace was also pleased and we are now working on two other leaflets that will add to their portfolio and further support the promotion of their services.
