Employer Lead Generation
|
The Challenge
Lincolnshire County Council's Youth Service e2e Project helps young people make the successful transition from school to employment, training or further education.
Our challenge was to support the Youth Service's e2e project and two other partner e2e training organisations by raising awareness of the programme and generating work placement opportunities. These placements would help learners to gain direct hands-on experience with a local employer and further develop their personal and vocational skills.
The Solution
Before any employer activity took place we identified and agreed clear objectives, set targets and discussed key processes and procedures.
First we focused upon the Strategic Design and Management of the project to ensure that all proposed activity was appropriate, purposeful and achievable. Then we looked at the Implementation and Evaluation aspects of the project, making sure that core implementation activities were young person centric, focusing on matching the young person’s aspirations to appropriate employment placement opportunities.
Our methodical approach would lead to successful outcomes. The key processes agreed and employed were as follows:
-
Audit & Orientation - understanding our client and assessing existing employer activity
-
Establish & Agree Needs - identify and agree areas of good practice and areas for improvement
-
Learner Profiling - explore and capture learner career interest and aspirations
-
Employer Prospecting and Data Capture - identifying local employers that match learner career aspirations
-
Employer Engagement - agree lead generation and referral processes, undertake employer telemarketing activity and record outcomes
-
Best Practice Manual - document all employer engagement processes and procedures, providing guidelines and template communications tools
-
Evaluation - report upon the successful outcomes and areas for further development
The Results
Through the delivery of 100 days Spinnaker Marketing supported three e2e organisations in the successful matching of young people’s career aspirations with local employer placement opportunities. We complemented this activity by developing the processes, documentation and tools needed for each organisation to successfully manage and deliver sustainable employer engagement activities for themselves in the future.
Our management and contribution of the employer engagement campaign across the three organisations resulted in:
-
raising awareness of e2e to local employers in Grantham, Louth and Market Rasen
-
the development of three contact management databases with 1300 local employer contacts populated
-
the creation of over 70 learner profiles identifying three key career interests / aspirations for each learner
-
the generation of 66 employer visits in over 20 different sectors
-
the opportunity for 79 work experience placements
